YES! He did it! It’s unbelievable that the 7-time world champion went 945 days since his last Formula One win. And finally, victory is his again! Sorry for the pun, but I don’t think England’s national football team will have the same luck. Anyway, Brazil just lost their chance to qualify for the Copa America yesterday, so today is not the day to talk about football! But Formula One, yes! Well done, Lewis, achieving the most wins at a circuit—setting a new record with 9 wins! It’s amazing. This was sport as emotion writ large, the perfect stage for the perfect drama, an intense, gripping piece of theatre that left its protagonist for the first time in his career in tears, with likely all but the hardest of hearts similarly touched. I can’t emphasize enough how much I love this sport and follow it every single race Sunday!
