The show is like a slightly sour orange. It looks fabulous on the outside, but when you bite into it, your face makes the most questionable expression because you’re unsure whether it’s a yes or no. However, themes of youth issues and choices always capture my attention. Following ‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ one of my dearest South Korean dramas, I’m always eager to give a shot to similar productions. To be honest, the show is pretty decent for its purpose!

Record of Youth’ beautifully portrays the trials and triumphs of those navigating the entertainment industry. The narrative follows three millennials in their late twenties, striving to fulfill their dreams amidst opposition and conflicts. Park Bo-gum, whom I’ve been following since ‘Reply 1988,’ delivers a fantastic performance, while Park So-dam, outstanding in the movie ‘Parasite,’ shines once again. Byeon Woo-seok emerges as one of the most promising actors in this generation. The cast is indeed amazing. Behind the camera, every person has undergone a humble beginning before reaching their desired destination. Success doesn’t come quickly, and the struggle to achieve it in these careers, especially at a young age, is truly heartbreaking.
