With an unorthodox storyline that echoes Memento, Disney+’s new original South Korean drama pulls you in from the opening scene, setting the stage for a gripping murder mystery with real emotional stakes. A mysterious death? Yes. A list of menacing suspects? Done. A slow drip of clues, unraveling just fast enough to keep you leaning in? Of course. And at the heart of it all, a protagonist caught in a reality that feels just out of reach—discovering the truth alongside us, step by step.
The performances anchor this restless tide. Lee Dong-wook, ever a quiet storm on screen, carries forward the depth of Tale of the Nine-Tailed and Goblin. He’s magnetic—his character a tapestry of vulnerability and resolve, woven with a rare, human ache. Kim Hye-jun, unforgettable from Kingdom, moves through the script’s taut threads with grace and fire. She shifts between whispered heartbreak and raw intensity, making every glance and silence hum with unspoken gravity. Even the smallest moments linger, heavy with what’s left unsaid.
