“Can’t you struggle by my side? Let’s get through it together…”
I believe this is the heart of this beautiful production.
As someone who has admired South Korean dramas for quite some time, I continue to be moved by the way they approach the intricacies of mental health. With each new story, I find myself drawn to their gentle, nuanced storytelling. This production blends romance and comedy with grace, offering a narrative that handles emotional pain and healing with genuine sensitivity. It quietly underscores the importance of care, persistence, and follow-up in facing such struggles.
What stands out most is the way the series explores the realities of mental health with honesty and depth. Through Park Shin-hye’s character, we see the courage it takes to seek help in a world where stigma still lingers. Her journey reflects both vulnerability and strength, supported by her doctor and family as she learns to navigate the path toward recovery. Park Hyung-sik’s character, too, bears his own unseen wounds, reminding us that time, understanding, and love are essential in the healing process. The portrayal of both characters feels deeply human and profoundly empathetic, giving the story an authenticity that lingers long after the final scene.
If there is one aspect that felt slightly overstated, it would be the romance, which occasionally drifts toward sentimentality. Even so, its tenderness feels genuine, and it complements the story’s deeper reflections on healing and emotional connection.
