It appears that Hollywood has finally acknowledged the tremendous potential within narratives centred on all-Asian stories, where modern ideals intersect with time-honoured traditions.. These narratives bring forth a unique perspective, offering insightful commentaries on family dynamics and cultural traditions, ultimately transforming into a lively celebration of identity and heritage. A clear testament to this paradigm shift resonates globally through films such as “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” “Squid Game,” and my personal dearest, “Parasite.”

Every time I contemplate family drama on the screen, the “Succession” series immediately springs to mind. “The Brothers Sun,” despite the occasional tonal shifts where brutality and sweetness intersect, does achieve that same tone. The show manages to surpass itself through impressive fight choreography and stellar performances by the cast. These elements synergize seamlessly, solidifying the movie’s position as a delightful and captivating family experience. Furthermore, let’s be clear, nothing portraying Michelle Yeoh can go wrong! Besides, Sam Song Li’s breakout role is very well crafted.
