To start, Jung Woo-sung is a true superstar, both on and off the screen. As a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, he’s using his platform to make a real difference in the world, and I find that incredibly inspiring. Working in the refugee field here in Canada, I know how challenging this work can be. Seeing someone like Jung step up and lend his voice to such an important cause means so much.

But my admiration for him goes beyond his humanitarian work. My love for South Korean dramas and films first led me to his incredible talent. The first time I watched him was in A Moment to Remember, one of my favorite South Korean movies, and his performance completely won me over. Since then, I’ve come to appreciate him even more in films like The Good, the Bad, the Weird and The King. And how could I forget the party scene in one of his projects, where Zo In-sung another actor I adore, absolutely steals the show? It’s the kind of moment that sticks with you.

What I admire most about Jung Woo-sung is his ability to bring so many different characters to life. He’s taken on everything from romantic leads to action heroes to historical figures, and he always delivers with honesty and depth. He also has this natural charisma that makes him impossible to look away from, whether it’s on screen or in his advocacy work.

It’s the emotional impact of his performances that really stays with me. Some actors have this rare ability to express things that go beyond words, and Jung is definitely one of them. Jung’s recent role as a deaf character in the drama Tell Me That You Love Me had a similar effect on me, it was inspiring to see him take on such a meaningful, challenging role. I can’t wait to see what he does next. Actors like Jung Woo-sung remind me why I love cinema so much, it’s not just entertainment; it’s about connection, empathy, and seeing the world in a different way.
