As my vacation is nearing its end, I do not feel as rested as I expected, or at least as I wish. Instead of enjoying the relaxed feeling, I find myself grappling with an unexpected adversary: post-vacation blues. But this time, it feels different. Rather than the kind of relaxation I would love to be experiencing, such as sun-kissed days, carefree moments, enjoyable writing, and quiet reading, my getaway leaves me feeling drained and disheartened, more akin to a punishment than a joy. And the worst part is yet to come: getting back to the much-needed Survival Job.
The root of my disillusionment? Hard to tell! Everything that comes between what’s not felt or done, I suppose. In the aftermath of this disappointing escapade, the prospect of returning to the mundanity of everyday life feels particularly daunting. With no rejuvenating experiences to look back on and no exciting plans awaiting me upon my return, the void left by my ‘kind of sad’ vacation looms larger than ever. Wow, do I sound dramatic? I guess so… Anyway, how do I cope with post-vacation blues? Maybe I could try to spin off from those feelings and create a better outcome, perhaps akin to the brightness portrayed in my photo…
Criquet, criquet, criquet…
