Today marks another trip around the sun for me. While I’ve always considered my birthday not a great excuse to celebrate, this time, I’ve decided to spend it reflecting on what I’ve learned over the past 365 days. As my son Luccas would say, “The simple things are sometimes more complex, and everything is nonetheless a matter of perspective. Everything is always moving.”

Indeed, and as we get older, the years tick by faster , depressing but true. Besides, the anniversary of the day you entered the world is a great time to ask yourself questions like: What is the purpose that drives me? What fills my cup? Am I living the life I truly want to lead? What’s most important to me? Am I giving enough back to others and to the world? What do I want my legacy to be? These inquiries are thought-provoking. They’re weighty topics, and I’m not sure I have come up with all of the answers (or any of them, to be honest). But, as I sort through my own self-discovery and figure out what’s next, here are some things that have become clear to me:

With age, comes experience , and that’s a gift I cherish.
I believe I’m never too old to make new friends.
I strive not to lose the fun and fearless side of youth.
I’m looking forward to more South Korean Dramas! Thank you, Leo!
And, Hala Madrid!

Tonight, I’ll enjoy a dinner with my family, filled with laughter and perhaps some wine. As I look back on the past year, I feel grateful for everything that has happened, both the good and the bad. Though I’m not in any rush to reach my next birthday, I hope to learn even more in the next 365 days, which I’ll be able to reflect on a year from now. Stay tuned!
