World Book Day, established by UNESCO in 1995 and celebrated on April 23rd, pays tribute to literary works, authors, and promotes the benefits of reading. The date coincides with the death anniversary of author Miguel de Cervantes and is also recognized as Copyright Day. In Brazil, Book Day is celebrated on October 29th, honoring books and the founding date of the National Library. Catalonia observes Saint George’s Day, combining the tradition of exchanging flowers for books. The Royal Portuguese Reading Office in Rio de Janeiro, inspired by the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon, stands as a majestic space, created by Portuguese immigrants in 1887.
